- By plane Yampa Valley Regional Airport is only 22 miles from Steamboat Springs and is a busy hub for the area even in the winter. Denver Airport is also around three hours away and there are plenty of bus and shuttle services available.
- By car The most direct route from Denver to Steamboat Springs is the I-70 west to Silverthorne, with a diversion onto Highway 9 North and joining the US 40. During the winter, the drive over Rabbit Ears Pass can be treacherous. So if you’re staying at a chalet in Steamboat Springs it is essential to hire a 4x4 vehicle with winter tyres to make the trip safely.

- The best time to book a trip to Steamboat depends on the kind of mountain escape you have in mind. For peak ski conditions, January and February are hard to beat, while March brings longer days, softer light, and a lively spring-skiing feel.
