Introducing Hollywood

A land of celluloid dreams, where many flock from near and far to script the unfinished endings to fables of their own cinema success… welcome to Hollywood Boulevard.

The name itself calls many things to mind – predominantly, the powerhouse entertainment industry and the bevy of silver-screen stars. Part of you feels as though you have been here before. And you have, whether enchanted in the theatre or nestled snugly at home.

Film buffs delight in the greasy spoon options at Mel’s Drive-In, a Sunset Boulevard staple serving up fresh milkshakes beneath a young George Lucas on the set of ‘American Graffiti’. At Osteria Mozza, Mario Batali et al boast Italian cuisine that gives its New York counterparts stiff box office competition.

Watching from above are the Hollywood Hills - a once pastoral setting that gave way to showy real estate in the 1920s but still retains much of its historic charm. There’s something magical about the way the city sparkles over Mulholland Drive after sunset, and the deeper you venture into the labyrinthine network of narrow mountain roads, the more glamour and intrigue you’ll discover, from bougainvillea-laden balconies to intimate cafes and country stores.

As the scene is set, the lights spark to life and the camera rolls, Hollywood will forever offer an auteur assortment of answers to the question, ‘What’s your dream?’
