New York

Midtown West

Introducing Midtown West

If there’s one part of New York that pushes every one of your senses to the limit, it’s Midtown West. Times Square and its blinding lights form the centerpiece of this vibrant neighborhood – a perpetual, incandescent reminder of why New York is called the city that never sleeps.

With Broadway, Carnegie Hall and Radio City Music Hall in the vicinity, the neighbourhood is kept awake on a steady diet of music, dance and drama. The Museum of Modern Art is located here, providing a constant stream of cutting edge art. Rockefeller Center is its most distinctive architectural gem, its Art Deco style proferring the most stunning views of the Manhattan skyline from the Top of the Rock.

Should you need an infusion of greenery and sunlight amidst the skyscrapers, escape to Bryant Park, a lush oasis within the city where one can picnic and watch outdoor films in the summer, and come winter ice skate and shop for baubles in the Christmas market.

While part of this neighborhood has been nicknamed Hell’s Kitchen, it’s anything but hellish for your tastebuds. Here, dining choices run the gamut from three-Michelin starred, white linen restaurants to the best Halal chicken rice street cart in the city.

While Midtown West may crawl with suits and bum bags during the day, the after-hours vibe is far more relaxed, with off-duty actors, dancers and singers kicking back in South African wine bars and laid-back margarita joints.
