Kensington Gardens, Kensington
Between September and November, London’s green parks bronze and brown, becoming less busy and more charming by the day. One of our favourites is Kensington Gardens, on the west side of Hyde Park. From here, fantastic shopping on Kensington High Street and art exhibits at the Serpentine Gallery are less than 15 minutes’ walk. But who wants to be indoors? A pedalo for two looks much more appealing.Browse Kensington homes
Burlington Arcade, Mayfair
London’s arcades are part of the city’s architectural heritage, and Mayfair’s Burlington Arcade is a gem dating back to 1819. Today, it’s still looked after by Beadles in traditional uniform, and as well as fashion boutiques, jewellers and beauty shops, it’s home to Truefitt & Hill – a 200-year-old gentlemen’s barber (what a good pit-stop for a certain someone who’s run out of shoe shopping stamina).Browse Mayfair homes
Borough Market, London Bridge
Borough Market is London’s oldest fruit and veg market, but that doesn’t begin to describe the vibrant variety of tastes, scents and sights within. Vendors serve up hot specialities from around the world all week, and the full market is open Wednesday to Saturday. Pop down for lunch before exploring the historic neighbourhood, or shop for organic groceries, traditionally hung game and a fine vintage to take home for dinner.Browse London Bridge homes
The Prince Bonaparte, Notting Hill
As the days get shorter, London’s pubs get fuller—and it’s no wonder why. With a cosy, convivial atmosphere, seasonal menus and a wide selection of ales and wines, The Prince Bonaparte in Notting Hill has perfected the British gastropub formula. Stop in for lunch before visiting Portobello Market – Notting Hill’s main attraction – we wouldn’t be surprised if you’re tempted back in on the way home.Browse Notting Hill homes
